We rescued Paloma, along with her brother and sister, from Tijuana, and noticed immediately that while her siblings were fine, Paloma had a front paw tic that was severe. After getting her to the vet for tests, we learned that Paloma had distemper, a virus that often kills dogs. We put Paloma into a very expensive and not often used treatment program with a wonderful doctor who has had great results with distemper dogs, and we are pleased to report that Paloma beat the deadly disease! This sweet and beautiful dog is left with twitches that will improve over time, treatment and physical therapy, but she might be left with leg twitches for the rest of her life. Paloma is loving and gentle and needs a gentle and loving home. She would be great in a home with another sweet dog and owners who can give her the care she needs. She is vaccinated and chipped and will be spayed soon.
